Introductions, a little humor:

So you're playing for a group of people and the MC or someone gives you and or your band an introduction. You hear applause. Maybe a few people, a lot of people or a big auditorium full of people. What's next? Do you?:

    A. flash a smile at 'em and before the applause starts to die out, immediately launch into one of your most energetic, engaging songs? ...or do you:
    B. Wait till all the applause is over have a pregnant pause and ask the audience, "Can you hear this mic OK? It's not too tinny is it?...and then say in your best annoying, whiney, apologetic voice:

"Hello everybody, how ya doin' tonight? My name is Terry but my friends call me just Ter so you can call me either one I guess and I'm from New Jersey. I'd like to introduce the band....Behind me is Hiram our drummer... I met him in Hoboken, which in case you don't know is also in New Jersey but not really as close to Atlantic City as a lot of people think. Now Atlantic City is where we have all the Casinos which I can tell you are not what they used to be...now ladies and gentlemen I know we stink awfully like gooey, fresh dog poop but I hope you'll bear with us for our first number which is an old Finnish traditional dance number called Raatikkoon...it's a wild and facinatin' dance number where the men and women line up on opposite sides of the room and run full bore straight into each other and whoever is conscious after gets to choose who they get to go into the sauna naked with after and those with bad concussions or who aren't regaining consciousness right away don't get to choose... Oh I see that while I've been talking, my 12 string has gone horribly out of tune, it must be the changing weather, although I don't know if it's mostly the humidity or the temperature change or maybe it's the temperature change combined with humidity...so I guess now we'll do that ancient Chinese number...it's called "Tu Ning...Huh, huh, huh....oh I love that little joke..."

If you think (B) was the correct answer, you are right...but seriously folks the only experience I had in an Atlantic City Casino was back in 92 or was it 93...?
